CERRADO (FRAME ONE)
Inkjet print on paper, 196 x 147 cm, 2009/10
The cerrado is a type of vast savanna biome that covers most of the Brazilian central highlands. The modern garden city of Brasília is surrounded by the so called open cerrado — wide fields dominated by grasses, red earth, termite mounds, and scattered trees with twisted trunks. CERRADO (FRAME ONE) follows a person, observing him from behind against an overexposed sky, listening to his stories about the open landscape of the cerrado and the master plan of Brasília.
